From his 2019 album, Lookin’ Up, St, John’s singer-songwriter Adrian House has released a new video for his single “Short Back & Sides” and snuck a few tracks out of the toolbox of Hayao Miyazaki in the process. The video gets the full anime treatment. While we’re not seeing any talking cats, flying dragons, or forest spirits—though quite possibly a cameo by Jake the Dog—House has done his best to capture the familiar, touching spirit of Studio Ghibli’s collection of films. 2020 East Coast Music Awards Still A Go In Newfoundland Amidst COVID-19 Pandemic
With the WHO officially declaring COVID-19 a pandemic, we’ve quickly discovered another casualty of coronavirus: festival season. Major events like SXSW, Coachella, and the JUNO Awards have become the proverbial canaries in the coal mine, leading the list of festival already announced their cancellation or rescheduling. Despite the growing list of festivals to be effected by the virus, the East Coast Music Association have said there are no plans to cancel their 2020 awards show and conference happening in St. John’s, Newfoundland from April 29 to May 3.
