Nikkie Gallant Takes an Open-Ended Approach to Songwriting for ‘Is She Holding You?’

Nikkie Gallant’s latest single, “Is She Holding You?” addresses the time-honoured themes of heartbreak and loss, but with inspiration indirectly cobbled together from a variety of sources, comprising a patchwork quilt of experience and emotion, the song practically invites wildly speculative interpretations. The song is a culmination of sorts; a boiling point, having endured a vast range of emotions during the Covid lockdowns across their home province. But they’re not dead yet and they’re not holding back either. Continue reading North of Nowhere Rage Against the Dying of the Light on ‘Tomorrow’
