They’ve knocked it out at show after show, festival after festival, and their debut self-titled album has easily been one of the East Coast’s most anticipated of the last two years.

Jamie Comeau & The Crooked Teeth, the most exciting band to come out of Saint John in years, finally drop the first single from their upcoming debut album. “Tall Pine,” recorded at Marshall Studios in Fredericton with Jay Merrill, might have a message that suggests you take some time to relax, but the band wrapped it up in a tune that consistently gets festival crowds up and dancing. One of the biggest challenges facing any band is the process of translating into a recording all of that blessedly frantic noise and energy that’s generated on stage, thrown into a live audience and spat back at you. It’s lightning in a bottle. There’s just no capturing what is created in that moment. Jamie Comeau & The Crooked Teeth might have come close.
