Two members of Halifax’s Matt Steele & The Corvette Sunset have teamed up for a twist. As they say, “Punks don’t grow old, they go country.” Matt Steele and Devin Fox, known collectively as Steele Fox are debuting with a pair of singles that lean hard into a classic twang. There’s a lacking in the sort of people who will get up on stage and not just make music, but perform! Kanye West isn’t about to pull an Alice Cooper and chop off his own head on stage, only to reattach it during the next song. Single: Wintersleep Keyboardist Jon Samuel Releases ‘Dead Melodies’ – The Banger He Doesn’t Expect Anyone To Hear
If you and all your friends just happen to be rock stars, even your more obscure efforts inevitably come to light. When Jon Samuel, keyboardist for Wintersleep, casually enlisted his friends to play on his most recent project, Dead Melodies, a lament that seems almost ironic in its reference to past failures considering his all-star lineup. The debut, and titular single, is a wild dance party, an absolute banger, in remembrance of all the singles that came before without getting the recognition they may have deserved.
