Premiere: PINEO & LOEB Cover Arcade Fire’s ‘The Suburbs’ Ft. Bowen
PINEO & LOEB took a crack at reworking some serious tunes on their last album, Elevation, with some amazing results. In most cases they were already facing a where-do-we-go-from-here situation – trying to improve upon hits that arguably couldn’t be improved upon. Amidst the series of chart toppers to grace Elevation was the newer (though nearly a decade old) “The Suburbs,” Arcade Fire’s track from their 2010 album of the same name. Featuring Bowen, the track takes a backseat to some personalized nostalgia as the three explore old haunts while dropping Benjamins in their new video. From June 20 – June 22 Halifax welcomes Donald Trump to the city. Okay, well maybe not the real Donald Trump (thank goodness). Neptune Theatre will play host to Trummp The Musical, written by two friends Peter MacDonald and Spencer FitzGerald who decided to take their anger and frustration with recent politics and cram it into a nineteen song musical. Premiere: June Body go Incorporeal for ‘River Never Runs Dry’
June Body have returned with a new video for “River Never Runs Dry” and if it teaches us anything it’s that even the simplest, low budget music video can be beautifully entertaining if you’ve befriended the right videographer. Working with Alex Boyd, June Boyd have turned what might have been a run-of-the-mill video into what looks like humorous live-action take on a Studio Ghibli production.
