Kim Harris follows up her first single in five years with “Uproar,” a song which she says marks big changes in her life. Much like the phoenix-from-the-ashes anthem of “Heirloom,” the song has a lot of heft in its soul but, unlike “Heirloom,” “Uproar” takes an upbeat twist; twirling away with its meaning just out of grasp. New Music: The Charm is in the Details of Corey Isenor’s ‘Absinthe & Smoke’

For someone with a more folk-leaning background, Corey Isenor seems to have settled comfortably into his new folk-pop style on Absinthe & Smoke. Isenor’s gentle voice, coupled with the dramatic flair of the instrumentals is reminiscent of The Mountain Goats, or even The Red Hot Chili Peppers if they decided to go in a more muted direction.
