It’s been a couple years since we last year from Troy Alistair. They appear back in July, 2018 with their debut single “Jump the Gun”, which was then quickly followed by a handful of tracks, and a couple side projects. Now, in our time of need, Troy Alistair has returned to dispense the wisdom of those immortal words just when we need to hear them again the most: “Cool Down”.
The newest album from Nap Eyes comes at a perfect time. Many people are currently sitting at home in quarantine, left alone with their own thoughts, and very likely on the cusp of an existential crisis. Snapshot of a Beginner provides an unlikely soundtrack to such moments, though in a way that’s closer to meditative breathing than it is to “end of the world” panic.
