Fredericton Pride Week Welcomes Comedienne Tranna Wintour

Fredericton will be expecting a special guest to cap off this year’s Pride Week festivities.  Montreal-based comedienne Tranna Wintour will be performing a special Comedy with Balls Pride show Saturday, August 13th at the Crowne Plaza Fredericton as part of the celebrations. The show will also feature a slew of East Coast comics, including Kris Trotter from Saint John, Darren Elmore of Sussex and Brittany Campbell of Charlottetown. Video: Kill Chicago’s ‘Take The City’

Kill Chicago have released a video for their new single ‘Take The City’ from their 2015 debut album ‘The Grey’. Directed by Don Levandier (The Motorleague) and premiering on student support organization Generation Squeeze, the video brings to light some of the terrible crippling facts about student debt in Canada, and the realities of education and career prospects across the country. Fredericton’s Highland Games Festival: Haggis & Heavy Things

For one weekend each year, the quite lawn surrounding Government House in Fredericton is transformed into a piece of the Scottish Highlands and flooded with kilted people. Arguably the most determinedly Scottish place outside of the British Isles, the New Brunswick Highland Games Festival erects dozens of Celtically themed tents. Some clans have their own tents with familial memorabilia and history, while other tents house everything from genealogy booths, to bands, to a shop that specializes in plaid.
