Ned Pratt was born and has spent the majority of his life in Newfoundland. As a result he has developed a unique relationship with the land, sea, and sky of Canada’s easternmost province. No people, no romance, no sentimentality – this isn’t the Newfoundland found in travel brochures; it’s harsh and almost brutally unapologetic in its simplicity. The Black Edition: Nova Scotian Musicians Honoured with a Full Deck

Never mind being honoured with award ceremonies and pewter accolades, the new benchmark of success for musicians, poets, and songwriters in Atlantic Canada is being featured in Kristen Hatt Lewis’s new series of playing cards. Arts Nova Scotia Announce Their 2018 Award Winners

Each year, Arts Nova Scotia brings together a committee of professional Nova Scotian artists and arts professionals to recognize some of the exceptional art of their province with their Creative Nova Scotia Awards Gala in Halifax. Based on professional recognition and ranging from local to as far as international accreditation, these awards come highly esteemed and see over $90,000 put towards arts funding.
