PEI Pay-What-You- Can Theatre Festival opened with a bang with 7 Stories at The Guild in Charlottetown. The festival is co-founded by Rosie Shaw and Adam Brazier, and aims to create accessible theatre experiences for all Islanders in winter seasons. From last night’s attendance of 7 Stories by Canadian playwright Morris Panych, it is indeed clear that Islanders are ready to brave the weather and begin once again to stir from our long winter slumbers. In Review: Great Harbour Brings Us Booze, Bootleggers and Back to the 1920’s in This Immersive Theatrical Experience
With Hogtown Collective Halifax’s production of Great Harbour being hosted at the Alexander Keiths Brewery, this is not your typical sit down in your seat and look up at the stage kind of production. Co-written by Drew Carnwath and Sam Rosenthal, Great Harbour embraces the concept of being able to choose-your-own-adventure, which seems to be becoming more popular with audiences nowadays. Audience should be prepared to explore rooms and tunnels of the brewery to catch multiple scenes and scenarios unfold. In Review: TNB’s ‘The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe’ is a Magical Evening of Fantasy, Family and Christmas
Theatre New Brunswick’s The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe’s first performance saw a standing ovation after 90 minutes of talking creatures, sword-fighting and wide-eyed imaginative spectacle brought the audience to their feet. Directed by TNB’s Lynda Hill, dramatized by Joseph Robinette and based off the classic novel by C.S. Lewis, the play brings the power of imagination onto the stage and is the perfect family fun for the holiday season.
