Knotty by Nature Cancelled by Hurricane Dorian

Knotty by Nature, the annual music festival held on the grounds of The Ovens Natural Park in Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia, was scheduled to take place on September 7th, but nature* had other plans in mind. With Hurricane Dorian heading up the Atlantic Seaboard, festival organizers have pulled the plug on what would have been the festival’s 7th year. The Tortoise, The Hare & The Millionaire Grow from Trio to Quintet

Fredericton’s blues funk trio The Tortoise, The Hare & The Millionaire have been a mainstay of New Brunswick’s music scene since 2016. They’ve been a constant presence at shows and festivals, making Matthew Carr (Vox/Guitar), Ted Nicholson (Drums), and Eric Allard (Bass) some of the busiest, and most readily identifiable musicians in the province. While the trio are used to appearing alongside guest performers, the band are making a permanent change to their lineup. Today they announced that The Tortoise, The Hare & The Millionaire will no long be a trio, but a quintet, with the additions of Adam Johnson (Trumpet) and Jenn Russell (Sax).

Polaris Music Prize: Wintersleep & Tim Baker Make 2019 Long List

From May 1, 2018 and May 31, 2019 a whopping 233 albums were amassed in consideration for The Polaris Music Prize. The 40 albums chosen represent The Polaris Prize Long List; the best Canada has to offer, which we get to salivate over for the next three weeks before they narrow it down to their top ten.
