We’ve survived the Great Flood of 2018, and now the temperature is rising along with our excitement to go listen to some live music in some fields. May zoomed right past us, and we’re sure the coming few months will go even faster. So as we head into June and into the thick of festival season, just remember to take a step back every now and then and appreciate the summer days while they’re here. Monthly Roundup: April 2018

The days spent comfortably stationed at our desks are numbered. The snow is gone, and it seems that everything that isn’t under water is starting to green up. We’ve already got a few festivals under our belts this season, and soon enough it’ll become a whole way of life. Surviving from one stage to the next. Hammock to hammock. Adrift in an endless sea of body glitter.

Lost & Found: Ian Janes At Fourteen

When you see a musician perform year after year it can sometimes seem like they’ve always been that good. Always. Never mind the thousands of hours of practice needed to get to that level of proficiency, some musicians seem to possess these innate otherworldly talents. Apparently that’s been the case for Nova Scotia Music Award winning Ian Janes. His archive of VHS footage shows that he could breeze through a Stevie Ray Vaughan cover at the age of fourteen. Monthly Roundup: March 2018

It seems like we’ve survived the worst of it. The snow is on its way out, already the bombardment of festival announcements has begun, and we’ve started the countdown towards the East Coast Music Awards. Between now and October there won’t be a whole lot of sleep happening, just a bleary-eyed haze through which we crawl from festival to festival.
