Canadian Folk Music Awards Announce 2020 Awards Show Line-up
First and foremost, the 15th annual Canadian Folk Music Awards are happening in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island this year. Secondly, there are a handful of East Coast folk artists who are nominated for these national awards. Third, and finally, the news today is that CFMA have announced who will be performing over the course of the festival’s two award two nightly Awards Shows.

Festival (506) Returns to Edmundston for 2020
Music•Musique NB is continuing their cycle of celebrating New Brunswick’s music while celebrating the province itself. They’re wrapping up a 14-year cycle around the province that has taken Festival (560), their migrating musical event, from Moncton, Caraquet, Miramichi, Fredericton, Saint John, Saint Andrews, and finally returning to Edmundston for the first time since 2006. The three day-long event of public concerts and industry conferences also plays host to the Prix MNB Awards, celebrating the best of New Brunswick’s musical talents. OBEY Convention Rebrands as EVERYSEEKER – Announces New Winter Performance and Workshop Series
Following a very unique Valentine’s Day surprise of a cease-and-desist letter from Los Angeles-based street art and clothing brand OBEY Giant last year, Halifax’s OBEY Convention were left somewhat adrift. Nearly a year later, the genre-fluid festival have announced they’ve rebranded – with a new name, new look, and a new winter series of shows and workshops. When Pocologan Camp Party officially transitioned from a backyard party to a full blown festival it only took two years before the question had to be asked: “exactly how you determine the maximum capacity for a backyard?” With a huge buzz growing around the small festival and an amazing line-up this year, it left festival organizers worried that they’d be turning would-be festival-goers away at the gate.
