Charlottetown’s seventh annual Art In The Open contemporary arts festival took place August 26th and drew in hundreds of spectators. The artwork and performances in this year’s festival followed a “School” theme, which acted as a reminder of how much we can communicate through art and culture, as well as how much the two can teach us. Halifax Pop Explosion Announce Full Line-Up For 2017 Extravaganza
We still haven’t gotten over the headliners that Halifax Pop Explosion have announced for their 2017 music extravaganza. The 25th anniversary seems to mean the festival is pulling out all the stop. They’ve already announced the likes of Charlotte Day Wilson, Clairmont The Second, Ria Mae, Tasha The Amazon, Weaves, Charles Bradley & His Extraodinarires, Cloud Nothings, Patrick Watson, and Japandoids along with comedian Wyatt Cenac. Now they’ve fleshed more of their lineup and it looks like it will be a seriously impressive four-day musical extravaganza. Messtivalmania X: Almost a Good Time
Messtival, probably the worst festival anywhere ever, had its 10th annual event this weekend in Anagance, New Brunswick. It took the form of a wrestling championship and as per the long and righteous traditions of Messtival, it sucked worse than a sweat drenched moustache.
