Stewart Legere Cuts to the Heart on ‘Splinters’ Soundtrack ‘To the Bone’
Splinters, the 2018 film from acclaimed Nova Scotian filmmaker Thom Fitzgerald’s has recently received a wider re-release. And alongside it is a collection of original songs and scoring entitled To the Bone by Stewart Legere, who also acts in the film. Deeply ruminative and standing beautifully even outside the film’s context, Legere has put together a moving mix of contemplative folk gems and melancholic murmurs of ambience- a fitting background for a film centred around a funeral. Beverly Glenn-Copeland Honoured with Polaris Heritage Prize
Beverly Glenn-Copeland has had a rollercoaster of a year- plans for a world tour fell through due to the pandemic and turned into a housing hunt for the New Brunswick artist. But it wasn’t all downsides, as a retrospective compilation, Transmissions: The Music of Beverly Glenn-Copeland, was released in September.
