The debut single from Daysick, the brand new alternative rock trio out of Lunenburg County, shows that the band are no slouches in the storytelling department. Amidst hard-hammered guitars and a heavy beat, “Retry” offers a warning to carpe the diem before it’s too late. Lizzie Loveless Gets Personal on a Health Crisis That Changed Her Career for New Single ‘The Joke’

It’s been two years since indie-pop group TEEN announced that after nearly a decade as a band—and much longer as sisters—they had arrived at their dissolution, stating “the music industry is not always kind and challenges our health and well being.” Now, from her New York apartment, former TEEN-member and Halifax-export Lizzie Lieberson, AKA Lizzie Loveless, has been piecing it all back together, embracing new relationships, looking back on what has passed with a sense of the bittersweet, and moving forward into the unknown.

As part of the grand scheme of normal, and our slow but unceasing march back towards it, Kiwi Jr. have done their part, contributing in their own measure and kind with the announcement of some long-overdue tour dates. Nature is beginning to heal itself.

More excitingly, depending on your perspective, is the opportunity to pick up some especially curious and flashy new merch from the band while at said tour dates (or via their Bandcamp page if you’re feeling less patient). The Town Heroes Tease Their Come-of-Age Concept Album With Second Single ‘Queen’

No, it’s not Freddie Mercury come back to haunt us in the form of a Cape Breton cover band—though come to think of it, that might not be the worst—but The Town Heroes’ second installment in their upcoming concept album. Set in the midst of a Cape Breton summer, Home is the band’s fictionalized tribute to the heady days of their youth. The album’s second single, “Queen,” is the boozy rush that comes from meeting the CFA of your dreams down at dance at the Strathlorne Hall.
