The organizers at Cavendish Beach Music Festival are maintaining a level of optimism for 2022 that might just pull it off through a sheer manifestation of willpower. Atlantic Canada’s largest multi-day outdoor music festival has just announced its second and third headliners of 2022. Maybe if we all quietly tiptoe through New Year’s Eve without any bold declaration of 2022 finally being “our year” and continue to obsessively wash our hands, this might just happen.
The two new headliners announced are multi-Platinum country stars Darius Rucker and Cole Swindel.
“We are so excited to have Darius Rucker and Cole Swindell in Cavendish for the first time as we welcome back our fans who have already bought the tickets in record time, leaving a limited number of tickets available for the Friday and Saturday shows,” says Ben Murphy, CEO of Whitecap Entertainment. “The excitement has been building ever since our first announcement and we expect that to continue all the way through to July.”
Music festival fans—or anyone who lived through the ’90s—might just recognize Darius Rucker from a very different project; he’s the lead singer and rhythm guitarist of the GRAMMY Award-winning band Hootie & the Blowfish. He took a hard left turn into country music in 2008 with his debut solo album and has since sold more than 25 million albums worldwide. He’s had four No. 1 albums topping the Billboard Country chart and took home his third Grammy Award in 2014 for Best Solo Country Performance with his 9x Platinum version of Old Crow Medicine Show’s “Wagon Wheel.”
Cole Swindell debuted on the country scene seven years ago and has since accumulated 4 billion streams including, with ten No. 1 singles, eleven No. 1 singles as a songwriter, nine Platinum singles, a Platinum-certified self-titled debut album, and a Gold-certified sophomore album, not to mention a Grammy nomination.
Swindell and Rucker will be hitting the same stage as the previously announced Luke Combs. Combs will be performing on Thursday, July 7th, followed by Darius Rucker on Friday, July 8th, and Cole Swindell on Saturday, July 9th, 2022. Additional performers will be announced leading up to the festival.
A limited number of single-day passes for Friday, July 8 and Saturday, July 9 are still available starting at $85 plus taxes and service fees at cavendishbeachmusic.com.
