Organizers Prince Edward Island’s Cavendish Beach Music Festival are not leaving fans and festivalgoers in the lurch this summer. Though they cannot carry on this year as usual with their event that attracts over 60,000 attendees annually, they have something else in store. Set to take place over four weekends in July and August, the Cavendish Beach Drive-in Concert Series will allow guests to enjoy live music performances from the comfort of their cars.
The first event of its kind to take place on PEI, the concert series will feature 18 of the island’s own groups and artists.
Taking place at the Cavendish Beach Festival and Events Centre, the four installments of the event will be held on July 11th, July 25th, August 8th and August 29th. Food and beverage will be available for purchase onsite via the MHG Delivered app and delivered directly to the attending vehicles to ensure physical distancing is maintained.
Those not attending the show on July 11th can catch coverage of the day’s events on CTV Two at 8:00 p.m. ADT. In addition to a live recording of the show, which will be headlined by Irish Mythen, the broadcast will include footage from favourite performances at the festival in years past.
Other artists and groups scheduled to perform during the series include Two Hours Traffic, The Ellis Family Band, Lennie Gallant, Ben Chase, Cory Gallant and The Red Dirt Posse, Brooke MacArthur, Inn Echo, Kinley, Rachel Beck, Logan Richard, Vince the Messenger, Gordie Mackeeman and his Rhythm Boys, Dylan Menzie, Trinity Bradshaw, Catherine MacLellan, Alicia Toner, and Hailee Lefort Trio.
