Single: Nick Earle & The Reckless Hearts Want You to Giv’r for Whatev’r with ‘Make a Change’

Nick Earle is a rebel without a cause. “Make a Change,” the second single to come from Earle and his band & The Reckless Hearts, is a rallying cry, a call to arms, a fire under your ass, for whatever…. It’s the Choose Your Own Adventure of anthems. Pick a cause and get at ‘er.

Earle explains that his second is a bold declaration that he is wholeheartedly in favour of doing things. Whatever they happened to be. Probably within certain moral limits. Just so long as they are going with great spirit and vigour!

After all, Rock ‘n’ Roll isn’t beholden to any one cause, but the attitude with which any cause might be approached.

“‘Make a Change’ is an unapologetic ode to empowerment coated in a thick layer of Rock ‘n’ Roll,” says Earle. “The lyrical content is based around modern day narratives seen through large mainstream media platforms both political and not. It is a tune that I hope can be enjoyed just for it’s classic representation of Rock music, but also to make you think if that’s the kind of mood that you’re in.

“I’m not here to force a specific narrative for this track because that’s not who I am, I just care to deliver music that I hope people can enjoy, and find something that they can relate to in my songs.”

No doubt the single will be freely co-opted by causes left and right.

Nick Earle & The Reckless Hearts had previously been preparing to announced a series of summer-long tour dates, but have since opted for isolation. They will no doubt be approach their time at home with great spirit and vigour, as they would anything else. The bands are still expect to release their debut full album later this month on April 24, 2002.
