DrinkNB.ca to Connect Customers and Craft Brewers During COVID-19 Pandemic

Just because everyone is self-isolating, it doesn’t me you’re cut off from everything you love. Maintaining some semblance of normalcy is the only way most of you (not me, I’m fine) are going to get through the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s also the only way most small businesses are going to survive. DrinkNB.ca has been launched by Adam Clawson, owner of Fredericton’s Red Rover Craft Cider, to bridge that gap between many of the provinces craft breweries and their customers. The web service will allow zero-contact craft alcohol delivery in and effort to maintain social distancing while supporting local businesses.

The online store launched today, allowing customers in Fredericton region to select from over forty products available from some of their favourite local craft breweries.

Clawson, explains that he came up with the idea of DrinkNB.ca following the recent announcement that the province would be declaring a state of emergency due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the subsequent realization that it would necessitate many businesses closing to the public:.

“Breweries and other small alcohol producers are struggling to reach customers, many of whom are now practicing social isolation for the safety of themselves and their communities,” says Clawson. “The DrinkNB service allows them to support their favourite craft alcohol businesses without leaving their homes and maintains social distance for everyone involved.”

According to Clawson’s announcement today, the website will immediately offer the following:

Over 40 unique products.

Items from ten local producers including Flying Boats, Graystone, Grimross, Long Bay, Maybee, Red Rover / Coastliner, Trailway and 3Flip with more to come.

Twice weekly delivery schedule in Fredericton and the surrounding area.

Clawson, who has consistently been at the forefront of New Brunswick’s craft industry and a founding member of the New Brunswick Craft Alcohol Producers Association, explains that the project came together quickly and easily, with only a few short days from concept to today’s launch.

“Everyone I contacted about drinknb.ca was enthusiastic about the idea. It couldn’t have gone live so quickly without the support of others in the industry,” says Clawson.

At the moment the service is available only to Fredericton and surrounding areas, with a delivery fee within the city limits of $9, or free with orders over $100. For those ordering from outside the city limits there will be an $18 delivery, or free delivery for orders over $200.
