Paddlefest, the crown jewel in St Andrew’s musical calendar has just announced the first handful of acts for their 2020 line-up just in time for the sale of their Early Bird passes. Today Paddlefest announced three great acts, each of which will be making their Paddlefest debuts, along with the return of one New Brunswick festival favourite.
Among the acts making their first trip to the seaside festival are multiple Nova Scotia Music Award-winner and EMCA-nominee country & roots performer Ryan Cook, Jamaican/Nova Scotian reggae queen Jah’Mila, and indie-folk songwriter Abigail Lapell of Toronto who describes her music “prairie noir,” and “Canadiana desert rock.”
You may have already guessed the returning favourite, because you can’t have a proper music festival in New Brunswick without them. The province’s resident jam band extraordinaire, Grand Theft Bus, will be returning to Paddlefest to perform on the festival’s Main Stage on Friday, May 15.
Paddlefest happens in the beautiful seaside town of St. Andrews, New Brunswick from May 14 to 17, 2020. The festival marks the unofficial beginning of Festival Season in the region; a longstanding tradition which draws out some very eager festival-goers from their long hibernation to celebrate music in packed venues throughout one of the province’s most scenic towns. The four-day festival also incorporates paddling along the Bay of Fundy and other outdoor activities, for those particularly keen to get a head start on the exploits of warmer weather.
