Currently riding on a wave of success from her album The Basement Session: What I’ve Learned So Far, released back in September, 2019, Prince Edward Island-native and country singer-songwriter Alli Walker has released a video for “Little Things” from the album. The song is a reminder that, even if you’re not a superhero, our days are made up of tiny moments, choices and actions, and if you’ve managed to get most of them add up to something positive then you’re probably doing alright.
“‘Little Things’ is about finding joy in the small wins,” says Walker. “In a world where we can focus a lot on the negative or the bad happening, I’m hoping this video makes the viewer take a breath, smile, and take inventory of the amazing positive things their life, and focus on those for even these few minutes.”
For Walker, none of those joys are too small. She includes everything from holding the door open for strangers to a little self-indulgence in a hot bath. Among them were also some particular favourites: getting mail, fresh sheets, and new guitar strings.
Sadly, no mention of new socks were made, so it might be best if you take the liberty of ad-libbing a few of your own verses.
Filmed and produced Walker’s partner, Eric Paul, Walker says the song and video were both put together while she was in Nashville, TN recording her latest release, and first holiday song, “Our Christmas.”
Walker notes that “Our Christmas” also happens to be her most successful streaming song to date.
Walker says that she is currently preparing to head back into the studio “soon” to work on her next project. While she doesn’t have any official show dates announced at the moment, she hints that she does have a few surprises lined up for fans in the very near future.
