After an amazing lineup last year (Hello, Chaka Khan!) everyone has been eager to find out how TD Halifax Jazz Festival could match it for 2019. Having released the final phase of their lineup which includes multiple free shows, we are excited to once again celebrate around the city for the festival’s 33rd year with some amazing talent from July 9 – 14, 2019.
Artists who will grace the Waterfront TD Main Stage include: Common, Shad, Tim Baker, Kathleen Edwards, Bahamas, The Barr Brothers, Sheila E, Asia & NuGruv, Ms Lisa Fischer & Grand Baton and Pedrito Martinez Group.
St Paul’s Church will host acts such as Elise LeGrow, Liebman/Murley Quartet, Heather Bambrick Quintet and iskwē.
The Seahorse Tavern and Marquee ballroom will see performances by Mdou Moctar, Superfluid, Bernice, The Drug Rugs and Exco Levi & The High Priest Band.
Performances at The Carleton include Tom Easley Quartet, Chris Mitchell & HHMMDINGER and Pondercast – live.
Free shows will also be held around the city at a multitude of different venues and will allow all age groups.
Daytime free shows on the TD Waterfront stage will include John Chiasson Trio, Sam Wilson Quintet, Ced Marty & Dave, Alan Syliboy & The Thundermakers, Myles Goodwyn & Friends of The Blues, Blues Bash ft. Garrett Mason, Cyndi Cain and Keith Hallett.
From Wednesday to Saturday the Art Bar will see free improvisation hosted by Lukas Pearse.
Theodore Tugboat will again be hosting free and interactive Jazz Labs. These music workshops are for all ages while you get to sail around the harbour.
