Music Video: Kilmore Release Live Video for ‘The Wire’ Ahead of ECMAs

In celebration of their nomination for the Loud Recording of the Year ECMA, Halifax-based alternative rock group Kilmore are releasing a live video for their track “The Wire.” Part of a new series of live performance videos called Rogue Sessions, the band are showcasing one of their favourite tracks from their latest album, Call of the Void.

Rogue Sessions is the creation of married couple Heather (Kilmore) and Craig (Hatchet Lake) Harris. “The Wire” is only the second video of the series, but the pair hope to continue the project by showcasing other bands as well. Filmed at live their basement studio, Hatchet Lake HQ, the audio is unadulterated by outside noises and carries studio quality.

“Craig and I are looking to do more local bands in the future,” says Heather. “Rogue Sessions is still in its infancy, but we looking to include more local acts and give bands the opportunity to show what they can do live.

“Anything to help build the Halifax rock scene!”

The bright colours of Hatchet Lake’s “Dire Empire,” the first video in their series, gets juxtaposed against the black-and-white footage of “The Wire.” The darker imagery lends itself to the band’s dark, heavy and loud sound and appearance. The couple have plans to tailor each video’s style to match that of the band performing.

“The song ‘The Wire’ . . . is one of our favourite songs to play live. We thought this would be the best way to get it out to the world.”

The release comes ahead of the ECMAs happening this week in Charlottetown, where the band will be showcasing on Friday, May 3 at Fishbones.

“We are excited to head to Charlottetown to be a part of this year’s ECMAs again. We are nominated with some amazing bands this year and are humbled to be included.”
