Single: Kids Losing Sleep Release Second Single ‘Maybe You’re Right’

It’s been a little more than half a year since Halifax’s Kids Losing Sleep debuted with their first single, “In Love No More,” and while there have been vague allusion to a full album being released, we’re only just seeing the band’s second single now. “Maybe You’re Right” is a high energy emo punk song that jumps both feet first into the most timeless of subject matters: break ups.

The band really don’t muck about when getting down to business on this one. “Maybe You’re Right,” is about as straight forward as it gets. The only wiggle room for interpretation can be found inside your heart.

“’Maybe You’re Right’ is really just dwelling on a breakup,” says Jarod Gallant, Kids Losing Sleep’s vocalist and guitar player.

“It’s tough to talk about,” adds bassist Brycen Gunn. “It’s clear what [the song is] about, how it feels is up to the listener.”

“The song was written at a time when all of us had recently been through some kind of relationship struggle. There are lines in there that are direct references to some of our personal relationships, but at the same time it is meant to be open and conversational so the listener can find their own personalized connection,” says Owen Williams, guitarist and vocalist.

The single was mixed by John Mullane of In-Flight Safety at Coda Pop Studios and mastered by Paul Edwards. In theory, there are bits and pieces of a Kids Losing Sleep album that exist in some state of completion, but there is very little in the way of details available.

Kids Losing Sleep will be returning from South Korea in the near future to embark on their next Eastern Canadian tour this March. Tour dates to come.
