We might be getting close to the end for Shivering Songs announcements, as the winter festival let it be known this morning that they are pleased to add to its 2019 schedule a slew of local acts from around Fredericton.
Shivering Songs make a point of recognizing the ongoing support of the local music community but incorporating them into the festival, but also drop a few names from slightly further abroad.
First among today’s announcement are Toronto-by-way-of-Halifax’s Mauno, and similarly Toronto-based pop artist For Esme, and Newfoundland folk songwriter Matthew Byrne, who will be presented Wednesday January 23 in a special co-production with Music Runs Through It.
The festival added ten solidly New Brunswick acts to the roster including Keith Hallett (in support of Garrett Mason), Mike Trask, Montgomery Street Band, Kylie Fox, Colin Fowlie, Janowskii, Evan Leblanc, Young Satan In Love, Bleum, and 2018 FestForward finalist, Catherine Kennedy.
“Given the overwhelming support we’ve received from our community, it’s so important for us to highlight local talent at Shivering Songs,” said Festival co-organizer, Zach Atkinson. “We couldn’t be happier with the schedule we’ve assembled.”
Today’s announced acts are joining the lineup that has slowly been trickling out for months. Shivering Songs had previously announced Jeremy Dutcher, Dan Mangan, Bedouine, Greg Keelor, The Good Lovelies, Erin Costelo, Beverly Glenn Copeland, Garrett Mason, The Olympic Symphonium, Beverly Glenn Copeland, Forward Music Group’s recently signed Jennah Barry, Common Holly, Alan Jeffries, Penny Blacks, Jamie Comeau & Crooked Teeth, and DenMother. They’ll also be joined by Corridor and Simon Daniel, who are being presented in cooperation with Pop Montreal.
Weekend passes and individual show tickets are currently on sale at www.shiveringsongs.com, though it is worth reminding everyone that the January 25th double bill with Jeremy Dutcher and Bedouine have sold out. Should have seen the coming. Shivering Songs takes place from January 22nd to 27th in Fredericton, New Brunswick.
