The Stanfields are heading to Germany and the lads are leaning into it hard. The release of their video for “How Long is the Road” is just the tip of the Eisberg. In all their enthusiasm to get on the road (as is abundantly visible in the video), the band have gone medieval in anticipation of their Germanic conquest.
The band released the following letter to their fans this week, announcing both the video, their impending tour, and letting it be known to all what huge (but loveable) dorks they are:
“Salutations,
Feast thine eyes upon our newest video creation and rejoice!
Sir Dillan Francis Tate, Lord of the Monastery, Chancellor of the the Bass, has handcrafted this fine work for your amusement. Special considerations to Lady Manon Mau, Empress of Hamburg, for her crucial contributions!
Let us all raise our mead horns in honour of this fine day. Take comfort in knowing that our merry band of warriors are journeying to Germania this October – taking the long road on a noble quest in search of the promised motherlode.
–
May the gods find you well,
The Brotherhood of the Muskox”
For those not fluent in dork, we have acquired this translation:
“Hey, we’ve got a new video put together by our bass player Dillan. Check it out, eh? Big ups to Manon Mau for giving us a hand.
We heard The Beatles made it big in Hamburg and we’re off to bank mad Deutsche Marks. Peace out.”
The Stanfield’s publicity team refrained from any additional comment but could be heard rolling their eyes.
The video is taken from their travels around the globe, including Germany, the North Pole and at Blacktop Ball 2018.
When asked if the band had any big plans following their German tour, Stanfield’s frontman Jon Landry responded, “Nah, not really.”
The Stanfield’s most recent album, Limboland, came out on March 23rd, 2018. Since they’ll be away on their “noble quest” for the next while, you can listen to the album here.
