Festival (506) has announced the concert lineup for its 12th edition. As a celebration of homegrown talent, this year’s festival in Caraquet will include performances by 35 New Brunswick bands and artists and will include Music New Brunswick’s MNB Awards.
Naturally, there’s no shortage of talent in what is essentially a showcase of the province’s musical gems. Standout acts from the lineup include New Brunswick’s current festival mainstays The Hypochondriacs as well as Kill Chicago, as they teeter on the edge of releasing their second album, and rising-star disco-punks Spoutnique.
The full lineup for the festival includes Adam Washburn, Andy Bast, Audrée Basque Goguen, Bleum, Chloé Breault, Chris Colepaugh, Christine Melanson, Colin Fowlie, Cy, Danny Boudreau, FM Berlin, Jane Blanchard, Janowskii, Joyful Noise, Kam Speech, Kill Chicago, Kylie Fox, Ladd & Lasses, Les MoonTunes, Matt Boudreau, Motherhood, Nebullama, Old Self, Phil Athanase, Shaun Ferguson, Spoutnique, the Gary Sappier Blues Band, The Hypochondriacs, The Olympic Symphonium, Tommy Bulger, Track of Rock, Ventus Machina, Wangled Teb, Weak Size Fish and Wolf Castle.
“It is our first time hosting this event in the Acadian Peninsula,” says Jean Surette, Executive Director of Music·Musique NB (MNB). “We are really looking forward for this chance to showcase New Brunswick artists in a region they might not have toured before.”
This year will be the festival’s first time taking place on the Acadian Peninsula. The choice of making their venue in Caraquet, la capitale de l’Acadie, will allow those who attend to enjoy the beautiful Baie de Caraquet off the Gulf of St. Lawrence
