Folly Fest Announce First Bands Of 2018 Lineup

Rejoice, Folly Fam, for the festive season is upon us! We know you are all anxiously counting down the days like we are, so lucky for all of us, the festival announced today five of the (many) acts that will be gracing the stage at this year’s event. And we’re sure you’re going to love what the festival is shaping up to be.

The Gabriel Palatchi Trio, G-Nome Project, My Son The Hurricane, Old Man Luedecke and Plants and Animals will all be returning Gagetown this year. All five are returning performers and have, in previous years, stolen the hearts of the audiences present.

For year 10, Folly Fest wants to remind us about just how amazing the festival is. This year there’s a whole theme, a victory lap of sorts, as the festival seeks to embrace the best moments of the last 10 years and turn it into a lineup. It is going to be a celebration of the amazing community that stems from this festival and creates what we all know as the “Folly Fam.”

“Each of the bands we’ve announced has managed to have not just played Folly, but completely owned it,” says Folly Fest organizer Paul McAllister. “Both My Son and G-Nome last year were personal highlights. And for those of us that were at Folly 2012, having Plants and Animals play in what is now our Volunteer barn due to a hurricane shutting down the main stage was one of the top Folly memories of all time. The fact that they are doing a 10 year anniversary tour this summer playing their first album front to back made it all the more perfect. Gabriel is a personal fave. He’s played that last two years as a dark horse highlight. Finally Old Man Luedecke, has played a few times, and each time during his set It becomes apparent that he seems to embody everything that Folly is really about.”

The festival also plans to put more focus on the cozy Courthouse Stage this year to incorporate it more into that trademark Folly vibe.

“I would say it’s the lack of barriers between the festival performers and festival goers,” says Paul on just what makes Folly so magical. “Every person that comes to the festival isn’t visiting, they become part of the festival as a whole. I think it’s the community vibe that does it. We at Feels Good throw around the term “Folly Fam” often, and I think that is the best description of what makes Folly Folly. The musicians and artists at Folly are also the crowd, once the headliners are done, most likely you’ll find them rocking out at the yippie.”

Folly Fest runs from June 22nd – 24th, 2018 in the Village of Gagetown, New Brunswick. Passes are already on sale at www.follyfest.ca
