Have we expressed lately how much we love Partner? We’d like to take the opportunity to reiterate that just now, just as the band are releasing one of our favourite singles this year. ‘Everybody Knows’ is the latest single from Sackville duo Partner, and more importantly it comes with the announcement of what we’ve been long waiting for – a proper album.
‘Everybody Knows’ is a prime example of why Partner has been called the best new band in Canada. Drawing influences from the likes of Melissa Etheride, kd lang, Prince and Ween they the perfect blend of oddball rock, 90’s references, and a whole lot of face melting guitars. They’re four-handedly saving my childhood and everything that I remember as being cool. If Stranger Things was a band, it would be Partner.
So now we have this one song. This tidbit. This teaser. This satisfying little morsel that makes us wonder if we can handle a full album’s worth of Partner.
As the band describes it:

Which is fairly responsible for a stoner anthem, and maybe, as they claim, it does not romanticize smoking the devil’s lettuce, but does sound pretty cool. Maybe I’m old though, and a bit of nostalgia for being young and dumb, and an earful of campus bar rock is the only altered state I need anymore.
Partner’s ‘In Search Of Lost Time’ is being released September 08, 2017, but in the meantime you can see them all over the place.
