Last in our East Coast Christmas Gift Guide series is the sweet little ones in your life. By the end of this list we should have you covered for EVERYONE on your shopping list.
The Snow Knows
Jennifer McGrath of Moncton, New Brunswick has recently published The Snow Knows a beautiful new children’s book that’s more than appropriate for the season. The illustrations are done by Josée Bisaillon. The magic of the snow isn’t a foreign concept here and this book will fit into any winter book collection.
Hatfield Farms
With kids it’s always nice to be able to give them more than just a present to unwrap. It’s even better to be able to give them an experience. We’ve included two on this list for you to use as ideas. Hatfield Farms is located in Hammonds Plains, Nova Scotia and is a lovely family experience. With a petting zoo, indoor activities, sleigh rides, and more it’s easily a perfect family gift for Christmas. Plus, if you arrange to go in the spring you can take the kids to see some of the sweet baby animals.
Science East
Our other experience based gift idea is Science East in Fredericton, New Brunswick. Boasting over 150 different hands-on exhibits, Science East is perfect for the budding scientists in your life. They’ll have a blast learning while getting their hands dirty. It’s the kind of gift that will please both the children but also the parents — one less noise making toy under the tree!
Driftwood Dragons
This sweet book of poems, written by Tyne Brown, is exactly the Atlantic Canadian token you’re looking for. A collection of poems all written about the Maritime coastline — the perfect gift for a grandchild living away in another part of the country. You’ll be wishing for summer breezes and sunny days with each read!
LilKingz
Handmade booties for the cuties in your life! Made in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, LilKingz makes stylish baby booties. Their Etsy shop has all kinds of print options and provides sizes for newborns all the way to two year olds. Each pair is non-slip and is a fantastic idea for any of your friends who have recently had babies. This seaside patterned pair particularly scream Atlantic Canada and there are even a few pairs that are faux fur lined for extra warmth in the chilly weather.
This brings our gift guide series to an end for 2016. That’s a wrap — pun intended. We do, however, have one more bonus for you tomorrow. Come back then for a list of Atlantic Canadian boutiques and restaurants where you can get gift cards for those SUPER hard to shop for people in your life.
