Kylie Fox recently released her new “Cool Feet” single; a song she had originally crafted as a special wedding gift for her friends. The song was performed, her friends were married, and eventually the single went out into the world. The thought of producing a music video, however, presented some unique challenges with the world locked down in quarantine. So she reached out to her friends.
When initially writing the song and looking for something that uniquely represented the relationship between the bride and groom, Fox went straight to the source. She interviewed the groom, a fisherman who often spent long uncomfortable hours at work, and what he missed most about his bride-to-be in those moments.
His answer: her cold feet.
Which Fox admits is a curious thing to bring up at a wedding, and so the lyrics were changed from “cold feet” to “cool feet.”
When it came to the video, especially with so few options available during quarantine, Fox asked her friends to send in clips of their own, all capturing special moments with their partners. Like the song itself, it’s a lovely ode to being in love.
Fox also managed to include a special appearance from her parents, which bookend the video, and the couple which the song was written for, featured in the video’s second last clip.
“Creating content in isolation means having to draw from few resources and getting creative as a musician,” says Fox. “This video is compiled of friends, family, and fans who shared an honest moment of their love with me, and without their support and contributions this project wouldn’t have come to its fruition.”
“Cool Feet” is the second single to be released from Fox’s upcoming album, Green, which she recorded with East Coast Music Award-winning producer Dale Murray.
