Rainbow Valley may be closed, but there’s still reason to go stomping in red dirt mud puddles. We intend to do just that in the beautiful, historic Georgetown, Prince Edward Island, where a small festival has been building up steam over the last few years. Cloggeroo will be returning for its fifth year and the line-up is certainly a clog-stomp up from the last. They’ve outdone themselves by drawing great talent from as far away as Ontario and Quebec and providing a good range of genres to please your ears and move your feet.
The main stage will be set up on the waterfront, where festival-goers can enjoy a view of the Brudenell River, and maybe some fireworks, along with the music. They will also be protected from the harsh forces of nature by a big top tent that spans the dance floor. Don’t let that convince you to leave your rubber boots at home, because there will also be a free helping of music on the beach, which is open to all. There will be activities for children (that will not likely exclude mud puddles), and a full bar will be available for the ‘larger’ kids. Food vendors will also be available to fill your tummy, and after the music has faded you can hop on a shuttle that will bring you to the camping area free of charge.
The line-up for the fifth installment of Cloggeroo includes: Grand Theft Bus, Rose Cousins, Monkey Junk, The Mellotones, Slowcoaster, Christine Tassan et les Imposteures, Hot Toddy Trio, Vishtèn, Theresa Malenfant and the Instigators, Amanda Jackson Band, Calm Baretta, The Hypochondriacs, The Rubber Boot Band, The Koconut Kings, Willie Stratton, Chas Guay and Nick Gauthier, Mike Dixon, and Sarah Hagen.
Tickets can be purchased through the Cloggeroo website, with prices starting at $65. Early-bird weekend passes will be available for a limited time at $80. Physical tickets will be available at a later date, so keep an eye on their Facebook page www.facebook.com/Cloggeroo for announcements.
Cloggeroo Music Festival runs from August 10th to 12th this year and will be kicking off at 8:00 p.m. Friday afternoon.
