Classified proves time and time again that he is a real class act, be it donating proceeds from his track Work Away to those suffering from the Fort Mac fires, or dedicating a song to the hardships of his fans. In his latest video he tells the tale of two fans in particular that have had an affect on him.
The first story he tells is about a fan whose brother was murdered, but no one would come forward to help bring justice. A heartbreaking tale that happens far too often in the current world and can relate to far too many people. The second is a story about a fan who was too sick to leave his bed to visit Classified while he was at Sick Kids Hospital, yet was still smiling and happy even though he was fighting so hard for his young life.
‘It’s Hard To Understand’ is honest, heartfelt, and chock full of lessons that people need to learn. It’s an emotion laden track that will leave the listener wondering and thinking. “Life can be a trip, enjoy it when it’s good, just get through it when it’s bad, ‘cause life can be a bitch, but life can be a gift, so slow it down, ‘cause life can be too quick.”
All this rapped over Rocky Balboa, a whole series of films about getting knocked down, and getting back up with the help of a sweet montage. “The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place, and I don’t care how tough you are, it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life.”
Whether you are a fan or not, you have to admit that Classified has some of the most honest lyrics in the industry as of late. With a heart of gold, he embodies the spirit of the east coast with his generosity and kindness to not only his fans but to everyone.
